The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is appointing a researcher for the RDI Unit “Trusted Service Systems (TSS) “, which is part of the “IT for Innovative Services” (ITIS) Department.

The TSS unit is a multidisciplinary team performing applied research in the field of building trustworthy service systems (e.g. logistics and supply chain management) from the perspectives of big data, optimization, and security protection. The successful candidate will join the “Operations and Supply Chain Optimization” research group, which focusses on data optimisation and requirements, operations optimisation, and sustainable supply chains. One of the main application domain is related to Transportation and Mobility.

LIST is seeking a researcher who will work in transportation and mobility related research projects. He/she will have to write and submit research proposals for national and international competitive funding. To that respect, he/she shall demonstrate a proven track record of funded proposals, ideally from European programs like H2020.

The candidate will also be in charge of disseminating, valorising and transferring RDI results (patents, licenses, prototypes, publications, technical reports, participation in conferences).


  • PhD degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or any similar topic like ITS/C-ITS for mobility and transportation


  • Experience in the writing of large and/or EU projects in the domains of transportation and mobility, as well as in the management of those projects
  • Knowledge of logistics and transportation domains associated to at least one of the specialties: freight logistics and warehousing, lean logistics, retail logistics and supply chain simulation, reverse logistics and green supply chain, transport planning and spatial modeling
  • Clear interests for: innovation using ICT for transportation and mobility; optimisation, modelling and simulation related domains; expertise in Big Data and data Analytics is a big advantage
  • Be used to set-up new academic and industrial collaborations
  • Sound experience in valorising scientific and technological results
  • Challenge and result oriented mind-set
  • Capacity to generate new ideas, concepts, and solutions
  • Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
  • Knowledge of Luxembourg and the Luxembourgish socio-economic and industrial system is considered an asset


  • Excellent command of English
